Atomic RC AMZ 4WD

Atomic RC’s AMZ 4WD Build:

We are running an indoor championship for the AMZ 4WD car here in Istanbul, so I decided to build a kit to use with my own receiver and radio (Sanwa M12) we are also using the MyLaps timing system so a place for the transponder needed to be sorted also.

I had a busy week so did not get round to building the car so I decided night before the practice race to paint the body and go to the track and try to build.

I arrived at the track and started the build at 11:30 and finished at 15:30 just in time for last qualifying. Car needed to be setup but I just had fun with it.

I will do a mod to the diffs so they can be adjusted without stripping them down it will appear here.

Tips:

Tip 1: When you install the diffs check the tightness as they arrived in the box very loose and to adjust them means complete strip down.

Tip 2: Also check the plastic on the diff housings as mine needed some plastic removing that had been left from the mould where it fits to the chassis.

Tip 3: I did not use the standard bracket for the ESC as it is better to mount with double sided tape, I mounted mine to the rear just in front of the body mounts (option)

Tip 4: Make the diff adjustment mod so you can adjust the diffs front and rear without taking a single part of the car except the body.

Diff Adjustment mod: (Credit to Jason Bowman on facebook group for original idea, I added the rear bodymount hole).
